Welcome to the Classic Chassis Network. Classic Chassis Car Club resources for Texas. An affiliated member of Lambda Car Club International LCCI.

Classic Chassis Car Club is a Gay & Lesbian Car Club whose members own or have an interest in vintage and classic cars, models, literature or other automobilia. We have chapters in Austin, Dallas, Houston & San Antonio, all of which are affiliated with Lambda Car Club International.

Our purpose is to encourage the appreciation, restoration and acquisition of vintage and classic cars in a fun social environment.

Each year the clubs host Golden Girls, a national invitational car show and meet. This event rotates between the four Texas cities each year.

For 2012 Golden Girls will be hosted by the Dallas chapter.

Sunday’s party is upon us and the Palomar promises to be the place to be.  When you arrive at the corner of Central and Mockingbird, please make use of the FREE valet parking that comes with the price of admission.  The Opus Ballrooms will be hosting our party and they are located on the 2nd floor of the hotel.  Please ask staff to direct you to the elevator or stairway and as soon as you get to the top you are there !

November 26 Johnson City

The Austin club is hosting an event in Johnson City! Saturday, November 26th, 2011

 For Additional details on where to meet and what time, please contact officers from the Austin club or the San Antonio club.

  1. November Outing: Lighted Hooves & Wheels Parade 11/26/2011
  2. Cruise in to Johnson City after lunch
  3. Tour & Tasting of Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye Texas  ($10 per car load of people)
  4. Stop by Hye Liquor if anyone wants to purchase anything (Garrison is $75 per bottle!!)
  5. Line up for the Parade in Johnson City 5:30-6:00
  6. Parade is 6:30-7:00
  7. Walk the town en masse, look at lights, cowboy poetry and chuck wagon meals @ Johnson Settlement, carnival on the square, dinner together somewhere?

 

Friday, November 25 – Thursday, January 1: Lights Spectacular: This year marks the 22nd anniversary of Lights Spectacular, Hill Country Style. Proclaimed as “the Centerpiece of one of the biggest shows on the Texas Hill Country Regional Christmas Lighting Trail” by Southern Living magazine with a courthouse that “shines brighter than the star of Bethlehem”. The entire town is bathed in lights with 100,000 lights twinkling on the Blanco County Courthouse while Pedernales Electric Coop’s Headquarters on Ave F boasts a lighted forest of over 1 million lights. Hayrides and carriage rides are available throughout the season. Each weekend, the Garden Club fills the Courthouse with Christmas ornaments and holiday crafts for purchase. Johnson City is located at the crossroads of the Hill Country. Spend your nights with us while taking in the Hill Country Lighting Trail. Fri. – Sun., November 25 – November 27: Johnson City Courthouse Ornaments Sale: The Courthouse lobby will be open during the holiday on weekends and the Garden Club will be selling Christmas ornaments, crafts, post cards, bird houses, bumper stickers and local cook books. The ornaments are hand-made each Monday morning throughout the year at our nursing home by the residents, and they are excellent decorations for a very modest cost. Proceeds support local non-profit organizations. Opening weekend of Lights Spectacular the “store”is open 5p-9p on Friday through Sunday of opening weekend. Each weekend thereafter it is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 6p-9p through 12/18. Info: contact Joycelyn Carter, 868-7010.

 

Saturday, November 26: Whittington’s Jerky Hosts 10th Annual OPEN HOUSE: at Whittington’s Jerky and General Store, 604 HWY 281 South in Johnson City. 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. — Hourly door prizes including Gift Baskets with Whittington’s Jerky products and other goodies. The OPEN HOUSE will also include children’s activities, book signings and wine tasting, all free to the public. Saturday, November 26: 3rd Annual Lights Spectacular 5K Run: The First Christian Church of Johnson City will be sponsoring the 3rd ANNUAL Lights Spectacular 5K Run at 3 p.m. Medals will be awarded for each age group and there will also be a drawing for door prizes. Saturday, November 26: Lighted Hooves and Wheels Parade, Clickety Cloggers begin the activities at 5:30 p.m. with the Lighted Hooves and Wheels Parade at 6:30 p.m. Clickety Cloggers will start of the second night of Lights Spectacular with a performance in the street in front of the Courthouse on the Square. The highlight of the evening will be the Lighted Hooves and Wheels Parade at 6:30 pm and pictures with Santa in Memorial Park on Main Street. The Chuck Wagon Food Court will be open, the Court House lobby will be filled with the Garden Club’s Christmas ornaments and crafts and carriage rides will be available.

 

Saturday, November 26: Timeless Christmas in Johnson City at the Johnson Settlement, Boyhood Home & Visitor Center – 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. In addition to the Christmas celebration in the decked out LBJ Boyhood historic home located on Elm Street, one block south of Hwy 290 (Main Street) in Johnson City visitors can board a shuttle bus and ride to the Johnson Settlement, where they will be guided by lantern light even further back in time to the late 1860s Christmas frontier Texas and a visit to the frontier cabin of Sam Ealy Johnson.
